LAS VEGAS ( KISS) — On June 10, 2011, at the U. S. Food and Drug Administration, the FDA approved the generic version of Xenical (orlistat).
A new prescription drug coupon code, available on the company’s website, is now available to the public, allowing consumers to get the generic version of Xenical.
The coupon code was originally issued in January 2007, but it was extended to December 2013 when the expiration of the coupon code was approved. Since then, a generic version of Xenical has been approved by the FDA.
The coupon code, which was originally only available for the manufacturer, is now available to the public in a new format for use with the generic version of Xenical.
“We are very pleased with the approval of our generic version of Xenical,” said Janet Woodcock, director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, in a release made available December 3, 2011.
“This new formulation of Xenical will provide consumers with the best possible chance of finding the Xenical they are looking for, and that it will save hundreds of millions of dollars on prescription medicines.”
The new coupon code is currently accepted for use by consumers for the following generic versions of Xenical:
1. The Xenical Allergy Allergy Code and the Allergy Code of Action of Allopurinol
